to my personal website. I hope you find something interesting :)
Originally from Sheffield, I moved to Bristol in 2017 to pursue an integrated masters in mechanical engineering from the University of Bristol.
I spent a year studying in France during my degree. While living in Aix-en-Provence, I studied at Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Arts et Metiers, which constituted the 3rd year of my degree. I was lucky to work in a materials lab where I studied stress imaging methods on tungsten.
I worked as a freelance French-English translator alongside my degree, and worked at OR3d, CT and laser scanning and then reverse engineering components. In my final year, I took units on robotics, manufacturing, and biomechanics, alongside a project where I contributed to the design of dental implant testbed.
Now working as an application engineer for Third Dimension, a metrology SME which manufactures laser triangulation gauges for the aerospace, automotive, and wind industries. The role has taken me round the world, as I develop new applications, and support the sales process from demo through installation, training, and service.
I enjoy all sorts of making projects, and tinkering with solutions to niche problems, usually related to camping, electronics, or until recently, my self-converted campervan Lizzie.
I aim to use this website as a place to write about projects I have done or am doing, hoping that its of interest to someone out there, maybe you!
